I finally finished this painting, entitled “Bar Taps” for lack of a better titile. It took forever to paint. I was struggling with many issues- decision making is not my strong suit. One struggle was which beers to highlight. There are just too many good ones, it’s hard to choose. But I based it off of an Irish pub tap, so there’s a nod to Ireland and then the rest are great local IPA’s from Jersey and Pennsylvania. I’ve been working on this for a while and took a break. Partly because of the summertime days blurring together and partly because I don’t know. Then I worked on it a little tonight and everything just came together and it became this painting that I can be proud of. I like the energy – that took a while to find. Oddly, it was on a day that I had low energy to start. So glad it came together. I wanted to have the lights bounce and dance off of the beautifully designed beer taps. They are as well crafted as the beers they represent. You’ll find this in the bars and inns gallery. Cheers!
